Description
This recipe card is handwritten in blue ink for a Hungarian thumbprint cookie, traditionally called Huszarcsok or Hussar’s Kisses, filled with preserves in the center.
Transcription (front):
Magyar Hussar Cook (Kisses)
1 ½ c. unbleached white flour
1 egg, separated
grated rind of one lemon
¾ c. sweet (unsalted) butter
½ c. vanilla sugar
1 jar strawberry or apricot preser.
ground almonds
Blend flour, egg yolk, lemon, butter + sugar. Roll into

Bake at 250-375° (10-12 min) cool
