The Westfield Athenaeum seeks a full-time, dynamic,?<\/span>enthusiastic, and service oriented Reference and Information?<\/span>Services Librarian to help provide reference and technology?<\/span>related service, guidance, direction and referral for our?<\/span>busy library. In a city of approximately 42,000, the?<\/span>Westfield Athenaeum is a unique institution with three?<\/span>entities helping us fulfill our mission: our active library,?<\/span>our noted Historical Museum, and our Art Museum combine to?<\/span>fulfill the informational, recreational, educational and?<\/span>cultural needs of the Greater Westfield area. Join our?<\/span>dedicated staff in providing the full scope of Reference?<\/span>services using current technology and recognizing the<\/span>
diversity of our services.<\/span><\/p>\n

The successful candidate will work independently and as part?<\/span>of the Reference and Information Services team; assist with?<\/span>all aspects of non-fiction and Reference collection?<\/span>development; provide support for interlibrary loan services;?<\/span>assist in creating work schedules for Reference and?<\/span>Information Services Staff; provide support for marketing?<\/span>tasks; assist in developing and implementing reference and?<\/span>information policies and procedure; participate in special?<\/span>projects, provide technology assistance to patrons; and?<\/span>other similar duties necessary to the effective delivery of?<\/span>reference and information services at the Athenaeum.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

MLS from an ALA accredited program is required, with an?<\/span>emphasis on technology abilities. Excellent customer?<\/span>service and communication skills; demonstrated knowledge of?<\/span>library policies and procedures; knowledge of print and?<\/span>non-print reference resources as well as strong research?<\/span>skills; experience servicing diverse communities with?<\/span>diverse needs; knowledge of historical collections;?<\/span>familiarity with Evergreen a plus.<\/span><\/p>\n

Excellent benefits; 37 hours per week; one evening and?<\/span>possible Saturday rotation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Salary: <\/span>$40,000<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
