The Advanced Abstractor, non-English is responsible for writing?<\/span>abstracts and assigning appropriate database and thesaurus headings?<\/span>based on non-English content as well as supporting the quality?<\/span>auditors in their processing of non-English content. The person in?<\/span>this position is expected to produce specified volumes and maintain?<\/span>acceptable quality of work to meet the demands of the job.<\/span><\/p>\n

Primary Responsibilities:<\/span>
* Writes accurate abstracts–in English and\/or the non-English?<\/span>language of a specified journal–of articles assigned (articles cover?<\/span>a wide range of subject areas and vary in complexity from general?<\/span>interest to highly technical)<\/span>
* Assigns subject headings to abstracts<\/span>
* Suggests and creates new subject headings as needed<\/span>
* Proofreads own work to ensure accuracy of all names, facts,?<\/span>spelling, grammar, etc., while also checking the accuracy of subject?<\/span>heading assignments<\/span>
* Participates in peer review of non-English content processed by the?<\/span>team, to establish consistent content understanding and application of?<\/span>A&I rules<\/span>
* Proofreads and provides feedback for vendor work in support of?<\/span>vendor training and quality auditing<\/span>
* Conforms to standards of abstracting established by EBSCO, and?<\/span>conforms to standards of indexing established by EBSCO and the Library?<\/span>of Congress<\/span>
* Executes assigned work as directed by Supervisor or Senior?<\/span>Production Coordinator<\/span>
* Creates records consistent in quality and speed with accepted?<\/span>standards for Abstractors<\/span>
* Assists with other projects as assigned by Senior Production?<\/span>Coordinator, Supervisor, or Editorial management<\/span><\/p>\n

Skills<\/span>
Requirements:<\/span>
* Bachelors Degree<\/span>
* Fluent in English and French<\/span>
* 1+ years in a role requiring analytical, reading, writing and proofing skills<\/span>
* 1+ years experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)<\/span><\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications:<\/span>
* Excellent verbal communication; Excellent written communication<\/span>
* Positive attitude & team player<\/span>
* Translation experience<\/span>
* Awareness of worldwide current events<\/span><\/p>\n
