Job Description Summary:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Valdosta State University’s Odum Library seeks motivated applicants interested in working with both print and electronic formats. Reporting to the Head of the Acquistions\/Serials Department, the Electronic Resources\/Serials Librarian is responsible for management and accessibility of serials in all formats, with emphasis on the activation and discoverability of electronic resources.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>?<\/span><\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications ??<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?ALA accredited Master of Library Science or equivalent<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Experience working in technical services at an academic library, preferably dealing with electronic resources or serials<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Knowledge of MARC21 formats, LCSH, LCC, AACR2R, LCRI, ANSI\/NISO Z39.71, and basic authority control<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Knowledge of serials cataloging, in all formats according to CONSER standards and guidelines<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Strong analytical and organizational skills as well as attention to details<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Ability to function in a collegial, teamwork-oriented environment with a strong service orientation<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>?<\/span><\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications ???<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Experience with e-journal management systems (e.g. EBSCO A-to-Z), link resolvers (e.g., SFX), and emerging linked data and semantic Web technologies<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Familiarity with serial maintenance using OCLCs Local Data Management (LDR) system<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Familiarity with FRBR and RDA and LC-PCC PS<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Experience using Ex Libris Voyager Integrated Library<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

???????????????<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Essential Duties ??<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Activates and maintains electronic resources in multiple user interfaces.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Performs original and copy cataloging, processing of serials.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Maintains accurate holdings and access points.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Keeps informed of trends and developments in serials management and resource discovery and access<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Serves on Library and University committees<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Demonstrates potential in meeting Library and University requirements for promotion and tenure<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

?Performs other duties as required<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
