The archive complements the collection of materials held at the National Public Broadcasting Archives at University of Maryland.?<\/p>\n<p>?<\/p>\n<p><strong>***Please note: The Archive internship at NPR are available only to information\/library\/archive students and recent grads who have completed archival coursework.***<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Work under the supervision of the NPR Chief Librarian to describe &amp; arrange the newly created NPR Historical Archive including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Surveying &amp; appraising incoming or previously received archival materials.<\/li>\n<li>Processing archival materials using MPLP processing guidelines.<\/li>\n<li>Writing descriptive finding aids.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to balance attention to detail and accuracy with an understanding of &#8220;the big picture.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently or collaboratively according to the demands of a project.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish rapport quickly and easily with colleagues and clients.<\/li>\n<li>Experience handling deadline pressure and establishing priority among competing demands.<\/li>\n<li>Archival knowledge combining educational and hands on experience.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with MPLP, DACS &amp; EAD.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Preferred Skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience with writing &amp; encoding finding aids for online publishing.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of digital &amp; analog file formats.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with writing or editing archival policy.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with digital &amp; analog audio preservation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/interns-npr.icims.com\/jobs\/1708\/job\">Click here to apply<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The NPR library has recently established an internal historical archive.?
