Eligibility is limited to qualified students currently enrolled in Simmons GSLIS program.<\/p>\n<p><b>Summary Description of Position:<\/b><br \/>This position supports Library technology needs under the supervision of the Systems &amp; Web Applications Librarian. Responsibilities include supporting the Library ILS and other library systems and software programs; assisting in web application development and enhancement: providing first tier hardware support for staff machines; and hiring and training student workers. (see HR website for full job description)<\/p>\n<p><b>Primary Responsibilities:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Offer support for the Library ILS and other major systems and software programs<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in troubleshooting, maintenance, enhancements, and system upgrades<\/li>\n<li>Provide training to library staff and patrons on technology systems and tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Participate in the implementation and support of library applications and technology systems<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist in maintaining and updating Library websites and web applications<\/li>\n<li>Provide assistance with setting up new Library web applications<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide first-tier hardware support to staff and service point machines<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware issues<\/li>\n<li>Request support and resolution for technology issues from Technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Employ technology and systems to optimize library processes and operations<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the development of processes related to library operations and planning<\/li>\n<li>Staff Reference services for one three-hour shift per week<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><b>Qualifications:<\/b><br \/><b><br \/><\/b><\/div>\n<div><b>Required<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor&#8217;s degree and current enrollment in the Simmons GSLIS program.<\/li>\n<li>Relevant experience and completion of no more than 3 GSLIS courses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Preferred<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Basic understanding of HTML &amp; CSS web markup languages<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with SQL and relational databases<\/li>\n<li>Keen interest in Library technology and a high aptitude for technology systems<\/li>\n<li>Competent numeracy skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel<\/li>\n<li>Excellent customer service and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience with an ILS and Microsoft Office Suite<\/li>\n<li>Interest in emerging technology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Compensation:<\/b>?$31,500 plus a generous benefits package, including tuition remission.
