Kirk Douglas 45 RPM Vinyl record including “A Whale of a Tale” from the 1954 Disney Motion Picture “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea” and “And the Moon Grew Brighter and Brighter” from the 1955 Motion Picture “Man Without a Star”. “A Whale of a Tale” was written by Al Hoffman and Norman Gimbel, “Man Without a Star” was written by Jimmy Kennedy and Louis Singer.
Kirk Douglas (December 9, 1916 – February 5, 2020), was born Issur Danielovitch in Amsterdam, New York. He was an American actor, producer, director, writer and philanthropist. He has appeared in over 90 films, winning four Academy Awards, four Golden Globes and three Emmy awards. He received the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999.
20,000 Thousand Leagues Under the Sea was a 1954 motion picture release produced by Walt Disney. The film was directed by Richard Fleischer and stars Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre, Paul Lukas and James Mason. The screenplay was written by Earl Felton and adapted from Jules Verne’s 1870 novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. In the 27th Academy Awards, the film was nominated for Best Film Editing, Best Special Effects, and Best Art Direction in Color, and won for Best Special Effects and Best Art Direction in Color.
Man Without a Star is a 1955 American western Universal Pictures film release starring Kirk Douglas, Jeanne Crain, Claire Trevor and William Campbell. The film was directed by King Vidor and was based on the 1952 novel by Dee Linford.
