Description
This Bobby (Boris) Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers 45 RPM Vinyl record was a 1973 release on Parrot Records which includes “Monster Mash” on Side A and “Monsters’ Mash Party” on Side B. The song “Monster Mash” was written by Bobby (Boris) Pickett and Leonard Capizzi and was recorded in 1962 with Gary S. Paxton. The band members credited as the "The Crypt-Kickers" are pianist Leon Russell, Johnny MacRae, Rickie Page, and Terry Berg. "Monster Mash" was number one on the Billboard Top 100 chart October 20-27 in 1962, and entered the charts again in 1970 and 1973.
Bobby "Boris" Pickett, born as Robert George Pickett, February 11, 1938, in Somerville, MA, and died April 25, 2007. Pickett was a singer, writer and comedian. The "Monster Mash" song features his impersonations of horror film stars Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.
