Welcome!

The Palace Museum, commonly known as the Forbidden City, dates back to 1406 built by the Yongle Emperor. Throughout history, this awe-inspiring palace has been preserved, restored, and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. In November 2018, the creator of the collection, Shawna, was able to visit the site and take the images presented throughout the collection.
This collection of images taken in November 2018 are of bronze and marble statues found at the Palace Museum in Beijing, China. The images include eight bronze statues containing; one cistern, two cranes, a tortoise, one gilded elephant, a dragon, a deer, a phoenix, and an incense burner. There is one marble sundial.

The site is divided into pages based on statue type and has background information on the statues represented in the images. Included is a page for historic and location references used in the formation of this collection. For more exhaustive information, please select a photo to look at the image's metadata content.

Check out the showcase below, or select a page to look through the collection.

Enjoy!
